Language is one of my primary fascinations in life. I came up with my first poem in Swedish at the age of five, albeit in oral form rather than written. While I am unsure whether my writing has improved since those early days, one definitive change is that English has become my language of choice for most writing.
Writing has been an important factor in my life from time to time, and has helped me through some hard times. My need to write poetry, however, has diminished lately, which may actually be a blessing.
During my most prolific time, I was a frequent participant in the ATPAS (NNTP, Google groups) newsgroup, which is now largely defunct. The people I got to know through ATPAS greatly influenced my writing and will continue to mean a lot to me in the future.
Some of my writings exist on Everything2, the user-created, user-edited online encyclopedia, creative writing forum, and daylogging facility. The list of my writeups at E2 also includes a number of factual writeups that I created. I continue to collaboratively write and edit nonfiction articles on Swedish Wikipedia and English Wikipedia.
I started playing the piano at age ten and soon transitioned into electronic keyboards, synthesizers, and computers. Most of the music here was made mainly using tracker programs like Impulse Tracker and Fasttracker.
These files are encoded in the open and patent-free Ogg Vorbis audio format, which creates smaller files with better sound quality than the non-free, patent-restricted MP3) format. The files can be played in most popular software audio players like XMMS for Linux, Whamb for Mac OS X, or Winamp for Microsoft Windows. Microsoft Windows Media player is not capable of playing Ogg Vorbis by default, but third-party support is available from the Illiminable project. Hardware players such as some of those from Iriver and many others are also capable of playing the format.

Here's a snapshot from my webcam. If it is on, it will be updated every minute, but you will have to manually reload the page. If your browser supports JavaScript (most modern browsers do unless you have explicitly disabled it), you can open the webcam in a new window, sized to fit the image, which will reload automatically every minute.
